On Wednesday, January 30, 2008, TMPA Attorney Randy Doubrava left no doubt who was in charge and who the better man/attorney for my particular situation was.  The situation concerned a meeting with the City of San Angelo, Texas Civil Service Board. This was all based on a complaint filed against me (an administrator for the San Angelo Police Department) by a subordinate who was being represented by a rival, but very powerful, Police Association.

From the very moment that I spoke to Randy, it was evident that he and TMPA were genuinely concerned and interested in my situation.  Randy personally took on this challenge, and promptly drove to a town that he had never been to (City of San Angelo, Texas).  His actions and representation in front of the Civil Service Commission were well planned out and to the point.  Randy’s character left no doubt about which organization made a better impression to the commission, and also which attorney had better prepared for the fight. In my particular situation, personnel is always the problem, and personnel is always the solution as was evident to everyone at the meeting.

I have been a silent member of TMPA for almost 27 years without ever having to ask for, much less have to use, any of TMPA's assistance.  On January 30, 2008, I finally realized how blessed I was to have TMPA on my team. I am forever grateful to T.M.P.A. and Randy Doubrava.
