TMPA
Programs
SAFVIC
TMPA also provides the new Sexual Assault and Family
Violence Investigators Course (SAFVIC), which
was created by TMPA through a grant funded by
the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division.
TMPA hosts a 40-hour train-the-trainer course
designed to provide future instructors on conducting
the 3-day course. This is an exciting new program
that will help all officers better deal with family
violence and sexual assault cases.
Click
It or Ticket
TMPA provides the management and evaluation
support for the Texas Department of Transportation
"Buckle Up, Texas" Occupant Protection
initiative and the new "Click It or Ticket"
campaign that emphasizes significant media and
enforcement efforts to increase compliance with
occupant protection laws. TMPA was selected for
this program because of our unique ability to
deliver high quality training of occupant protection
programs to police officers all across Texas and
maintain the highest standards for reporting and
evaluation of the enforcement programs.
TxDOT
Police Traffic Services
TMPA provides the liaison, management, and evaluation
support for the Texas Department of Transportation
Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) for
all other STEP grant programs including intersection
and speed. TMPA was selected for these programs
because of our unique ability to deliver high-quality
training, conduct professional research, and to
resolve every day problems that police officers
face trying to do their jobs.
DWI
Reduction Program Through TxDOT and NHTSA
TMPA proposed and received funding through the
Texas Department of Transportation and the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration to introduce
an innovative software solution aimed at reducing
officer down-time for DWI enforcement. We
recognized that state statutes and administration
license revocations created enormous paperwork
requirements on officers who make DWI arrests.
Our program was introduced as a simple wizard-based
program that reduces DWI processing time as much
as 50%, which puts officers on the streets in
much less time and reduces the reluctance that
some officers have expressed in the past to make
DWI arrests because of the paperwork requirements.
