Kevin,
I wanted to write you to thank you for the assistance that TMPA has given the members of the Terrell Police Service, TMPA members and non-members alike who have finally received a long overdue check from the city.

Several years ago, while working 12 hour shifts, the city decided that to receive overtime, an officer had to work 171 hours in a calendar month. This was 11 hours over what would have normally been worked and the city decided that it was not overtime. When officers notified the city that they were wrong, the city stated that they were right. TMPA was called and responded that the city was in the wrong.

Throughout the over two years that this fight has been going on, TMPA was there to provide assistance. The legal representation provided by the law offices of Lyon, Gorsky, Baskett, Haring, Gilbert & Cates L.L.P. has been outstanding.  I appreciate our members patience and know that this battle will help other law enforcement officers in the future.

Rhonda Cates along with Cindy Welch were constantly checking on the status of the issue and were always willing to take the necessary steps to get this process completed.

Our thanks to you, TMPA and Rhonda Cates for a job well done.
