Austin, Texas – The 2017 Texas Peace Officers Memorial Ride, which will benefit and raise funds for the three Texas chapters of Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.), will start Saturday, April 29 in Fort Worth and end Sunday, April 30 in Austin.
Completing a two-day, 150-mile bicycle ride in honor of officers who died in the line of duty, the participants of the ride are expected to arrive around 3 p.m. at the Texas Peace Officers’ Memorial on the state capitol grounds in Austin, where an arrival ceremony will take place. During the ceremony, some of the riders will honor and name the fallen officers they dedicate their ride to.
The families of fallen officers have been invited to be present at this ceremony and several are expected to attend. The 2017 Texas Peace Officers Memorial Ride participants include law enforcement officers, survivors of fallen officers, and law enforcement supporters, along with support personnel and police motor officers.
The Texas Municipal Police Association is proud to sponsor this event honoring fallen officers.
