Chris,
I find that I must again say thanks to the TMPA and its leadership. I was involved in a shooting incident in January, in which a robbery suspect took clerks hostage at a local motel. You might say I walked into it and found myself right in the middle. With luck on my side the hostages were freed without harm, but the Robber was not so lucky.
Once again Lance Wyatt was called, as was TMPA, to provide legal assistance. I cannot say enough about TMPA legal or Lance. I have been cleared by the Grand Jury and finally by Internal Affairs. I was called by several board members of TMPA to see if I was alright, and to see if my department had and was treating me ok.
I want to thank you all for your concern and the way I was treated by your organization. I must also say something about Chief Rushin here at Plano P.D. Chief Rushin came to the location and told me right there that the shooting looked good and the department was behind me, as was he. In this day and age, I can only say that those few words were important for me to hear. So often Chiefs won’t say that due to political considerations or would be public perceptions. But I think it’s important for Officers to hear that they have the support of their leadership after just such an event. As to Lance Wyatt, all I can say is thanks Lance. Thanks to TMPA for your support, you have never told me that I am at the end of benefits. Thanks Chris and all the board down there.
Jon Mark, Plano Police Dept.
