Chris Heaton
Chris Heaton came to TMPA in September 2000 with 18 years experience in law enforcement. He began his career with the Stephen F. Austin State University Police Department prior to his move to the Plano Police Department in 1984. Chris served in Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Narcotics, and Support Services. He received the Meritorious Service and Medal of Valor awards during his tenure in Plano. Chris is a past President of the Plano Police Association and he served as TMPA President in 1992-93.
During his tenure with TMPA, Chris introduced new member services and special programs that support law enforcement and expand the overall organizational mission. Through these efforts, TMPA has experienced tremendous membership growth and expansion of operations.
Chris received his Bachelors degree in Political Science from Stephen F. Austin State University and he holds a Master of Public Administration degree with an emphasis in local government management from the University of North Texas.
