TMPA: Texas Municipal Police Association

Protecting Those Who Serve
for Over 50 Years

November 21, 2003

Dear Sirs:

On behalf of my family, my men, and me, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) and your Region 2 attorney, Mr. Gregory Cagle. Mr. Cagle is an outstanding attorney and your organization is well represented with his knowledge of the law and his professionalism.

San Jacinto County District Attorney Mark Price filed a RICO suit and a removal suit against me, an elected constable of seven years on August 7, 2003. The charges were prompted by my report of a criminal offense of child pornography on County Judge William Law's county computer. After reporting the offense I was sued civilly along with two named and six unnamed co-conspirators. All charges were dropped October 27, 2003.

Mr. Cagle provided not only legal defense, but also friendship to my family and me during this very trying time. He and his staff are caring professionals and should be commended for their efforts in seeing that justice is done.

We will never forget what TMPA and Gregory Cagle have done for us.

Sincerely,

Jerry W. Everitt, Constable San Jacinto County (Pct. 2)
