On March 17, 2002,
my life changed forever. If it weren't for Greg Cagle to correct a wrong, my
life would be very, very different now. I, along with three other officers encountered
a male who was suicidal after just being dumped by his girlfriend. After trying
to calm him down, I had no other alternative but to take him to the ground so
we could take him into custody and get him a mental health warrant. During the
scuffle, my finger was broken, which now contains two plates and four screws.
The suspect was charged with assault against a public servant, but to get out
of his charge he lied and stated that the four of us assaulted him. We were
labeled by the public and the media instantly as four cops gone bad. The DA's
office indicted us on Official Oppression with the assistance of a Grand Jury
only hearing one side of the story. . .
Greg Cagle worked
on my case it seems as if it were his number one case and after a year of administrative
duties and a two week trial, he was able to show the jury the truth of what
happened that night. With the help of Greg Cagle, I got my life back. Greg Cagle
was there for me when not many people were. If it were not for Greg Cagle and
the rest of the TMPA team out there, I would not be here today buying a new
house, and continuing my dream career in law enforcement with the Deer Park
Police Department. THANK YOU GREG CAGLE!!!
