Dear Kevin,

After a year of persuasion, my friend and fellow TMPA member, finally got me to join TMPA.  As it turned out, I could have never made a better choice in my career.  Three months after I joined TMPA, Chief Bill Chenault of the Gonzales Police Department wrongfully terminated me.

Within one phone call to TMPA, I had an attorney representing me in my case against the City of Gonzales.  TMPA referred me to Jackson Walker, L.L.P. and Ryan Todd was on the case.  Ryan Todd and the staff at Jackson Walker showed me that the Gonzales Police Department violated my Civil Rights under the U.S. Constitution; they violated the Texas Government Code, the Texas Penal Code, as well as violating provisions of Garrity vs. New Jersey which is in the TMPA member booklet.

I won my case against the Gonzales Police Department and the City of Gonzales as a result of the efforts of Ryan Todd and the staff at Jackson Walker, L.L.P.  Ryan Todd showed the Gonzales Police Department that they acted improperly and violated multiple laws protecting police officers.  My name and reputation have been cleared and the future of my law enforcement career is without a doubt, promising.

Without my membership in TMPA, I probably would not have had the expert representation that I was provided with and the outcome may have been drastically different.  I salute the Texas Municipal Police Association in their efforts to provide police officers with excellent representation.

Thank you,

Jeromy Belin
