Protecting Those Who Serve
for Over 50 Years

November 19, 2001

Dear Mr. Lawrence,

I joined TMPA earlier this year, which was the best thing I could have done. This business can be brutal. Recently, I had a hearing in which I required the assistance of TCOLEO-TMPA Region 2, Attorney Paul G. Aman. When I called his office I spoke Mr. Aman's Legal Administrator, David Donahue, who immediately began gathering all pertinent information. David was able to get the necessary information from the city with no problems because of his professionalism and he is very personable. Paul had a meeting with me at his office on a Sunday afternoon so that we could work on this without being disturbed. I was not the only officer Paul met with on that day. This made me feel good, considering this was his day off. David also showed up for the meeting. This is true dedication.

Paul put together an excellent case and a portfolio so that everyone involved could follow along. He fought my case as if he had something personally invested. The both of them seemed to take my case personally. They both kept me laughing throughout the whole ordeal because they could see that I was a bit stressed out. These two men work very well together. At times, they reminded of a married couple! Because these two have been in law enforcement and have experienced some of the "malfunctions", they were very understanding and empathetic towards my situation. I felt like I had two big brothers out there defending their little sister.

I have told other officers about these two. Not only have these officers started signing up for membership, but one of my friends, a Deputy, is dropping his membership from another organization to sign up with TMPA. These two do know the true meaning of "brotherhood". They not only know the definition of integrity, but actually live it. It is most reassuring to know that these two "brothers" are watching officers' backs! What a big responsibility.

Sincerely,

Officer A-M Johnson
