About TMPA
The Texas Municipal Police Association is the oldest and most progressive law enforcement association in Texas and offers its members a wide range of services and benefits.
Representing more Texas peace officers than any other association in the state, TMPA has a long and proud history of providing its members support and resources to thrive in a career in law enforcement.
Founded in 1950 by peace officers representing all ranks and agency sizes, TMPA began as a lobbying group of municipal officers with the objective of promoting professionalism in Texas law enforcement, improving job conditions and enhancing communication among Texas peace officers.
Today, TMPA represents more than 17,000 officers in the state, including Texas peace officers, reserve officers and public safety employees, and offers a comprehensive scope of services, including:
If you’re not TMPA member, consider joining. Membership dues with participation in the TMPA Peace Officer Legal Defense Fund are only $28 per month – the most competitive rate in the state – and as a member of TMPA, you do not simply support the organization, you are TMPA!
