Via email October 23, 2006:
Dear TMPA,
I would personally like to thank TMPA Deputy Director Kevin Lawrence and TMPA Attorney Lance Wyatt for their assistance to me this year after I was suspended for one day without pay on March 9th 2006. After being given my letter of suspension, I immediately called the TMPA Office and spoke with Kevin regarding the issue. Kevin then referred me to TMPA Attorney Lance Wyatt who subsequently represented me in the appeal hearing.
I cannot express enough appreciation for what a great job Lance did while representing me. Lance was very helpful by answering any questions that I had.
In preparation for my appeal, it was suggested by Lance that I take a polygraph examination to prove my innocence of the charge that I was accused of. I agreed and Lance then contacted Kevin and got funding approval for the polygraph exam. Soon after approval, I took the polygraph and passed.
As time neared for the hearing date, Lance was very good about communicating with me on his plan for my defense. The hearing was conducted on July 7th and lasted several hours. During the appeal hearing, Lance did a superb job and was very professional. Our appeal of the suspension was successfully overturned. I was awarded full back pay / benefits by the hearing examiner and the letter of discipline was removed from my personnel file.
I feel that Lance represented me very well and I will not hesitate to call upon him or TMPA should I need their assistance in the future. I have been a proud member of TMPA for a few years and will continue to support TMPA for many more. Thank you all for your professionalism and assistance.
